Finally we had some cool weather, so last night I spent a comfortable evening in the studio working on the Butterfly Portrait. I put the most energy into the big fella, adding a thinnish layer of the fleshy color over the sunburn. I also ripped up the abs a bit. I put a dark outline around everything too. All my life I’ve been told not to outline, but it felt good last night and it does something for me.
I painted some dark grey patterns on the black butterflies and I painted a new arm for Ruby and it looks like she’s giving me a wedgie. I’ll probably go back to my original idea of her and Hondo pulling my glasses apart.
