After many configurations I think I’ve settled on the simple set up of the V50 running audio out to the monitors and MIDI back into GarageBand, the Oxygen 8 running GarageBand synths and audio out to the monitors. I have a GarageBand file that I use for live performances. That file has the main synth for each song on the set list so as I go down the playlist, I simply select the proper synth and it has the same settings as the original recordings. I also play the bass with a RAT pedal that is either on or off in any of the songs. I try to keep it simple because not only am I trying to sing the songs as well as play them, but add to the fact that I’m not a very good musician and I can hardly remember the words.
