Artesia is one of those towns that sits between two other towns and might go unnoticed, if you don’t take the time to stop and look around. Smack in the middle of Roswell and Carlsbad is this nice little town, likely with more bronze casts than anywhere else in New Mexico.
This massive sculpture site by Vic Payne is not only ambitious in scale, but it’s story is brilliantly told. With the rushing water that flows beneath the sculpture, you really don’t even have to know the story to understand it. It’s an experience well worth your time.
