What a way to end the year – The red self portrait is finished.
I spent a few quiet hours in the studio mostly staring at the canvas. Occasionally I’d get up and add a brush stroke here and there. The highlights in the hair were the final touches and I’m amazed at the overall effect it has from so few brush strokes. It gives volume to the poof in the front of the head and I like the texture on the side of the head.
